Spiritual Direction
What is Spiritual Direction?
Some have described a Spiritual Director as a spiritual midwife, a spiritual companion or a life coach.
The definition I prefer is simply someone who “holds space" for another.
Do you need a Spiritual Director to grow closer in your relationship with God? Perhaps not, but the presence of a Spiritual Director can become a vital part of your journey towards spiritual growth.
A Spiritual Director can provide:
-
Accountability
-
Feedback
-
A safe place for honest contemplation and reflection
-
New ideas and practices
-
A listening partner
The work of the Holy Spirit in anyone’s life is a sacred space and each person’s relationship with God is a sacred journey. The role of a Spiritual Director is not to tell someone what to believe or how to connect with God. It is again, simply, to “hold space” for work of the Holy Spirit.
Individual Spiritual Direction
One-on-one 60-90 minute sessions with a certified spiritual director. They typically happen monthly or more. This can take place on location at Holding Space, a mutually agreed upon space, or virtually. Reach out to Carrie for pricing and to set up a free first session.
Group Spiritual Direction
Group opportunities can be set up with 3-5 people per group. The group is a safe place at which members are holy listeners to each other. Sessions will be facilitated by Carrie. The group can be created by you or occasionally there are opportunities for groups to be formed. This can take place on location at Holding Space, a mutually agreed upon space, or virtually. Reach out to Carrie for pricing and to set up a free information session.
